All fragrances in our library use high-quality ingredients, a blend of natural ingredients and safe raw materials and molecules to create a versatile scent. All our fragrances are certified safe for use by IFRA and are specifically designed for diffusion (not intended for application to or contact with skin). IFRA provides a foundation for globally accepted and recognized risk management systems for the safe use of fragrances through its IFRA Code of Practice. This means that the fragrances we use have been extensively tested by an internationally accredited organization to ensure their safety for use. OFB only offers IFRA-certified fragrances and they are free of harmful VOCs. Every fragrance in the OFB library has an MSDS/Safety Data Sheet. We understand that, although rare, some people may have sensitivities to fragrances, so pay attention to what works best for you.

Production Information and Maintenance

OFB diffusers utilize patented cold air diffusion technology to transform a fine liquid fragrance into a dry micro-mist. These are nebulization diffusers, unlike ultrasonic or humidification and heat or evaporation methods. Cold air diffusion preserves the integrity of the fragrance and uses no heat or water. Liquid fragrance molecules mix with air and vibration, creating a dry, barely visible, and dry mist of fragrance. This dry mist is either dispersed directly into the air from the diffuser or mounted into the supply duct of an HVAC system to propel the fragrance with the airflow. This method is the most effective way to scent and can produce the strongest, most direct results. However, each diffuser has adjustable power settings for your desired output level. The fragrance is dispersed intermittently according to the programmed settings, creating a consistent ambient scent.

This depends on your usage, system, and area size/dispenser settings, but our diffusers are designed to require minimal maintenance. Your fragrance will last 45-60 days with standard settings (30 second spray, 90 second hold).

The approximate shelf life of the fragrances is 2 years. Please store the fragrances at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, with the lid tightly closed.

OFB diffusers require an electrical outlet to operate, and general maintenance and occasional cleaning are recommended. Each diffuser comes with a manual containing instructions for installation, use, cleaning, and troubleshooting. We see that in fragrance diffusion, the concentration of the scent is very small, and you generally don't come into direct contact with a large enough amount to cause problems. This is also more likely in essential oils, as they are concentrated plant extracts.

Our fragrance oils comprise most of our scents, which are perfume-quality style fragrances specifically designed for diffusion. Their composition includes both natural materials like essential oils and absolutes, as well as synthetic fragrance molecules for a versatile, consistent scent. Our essential oil blends are exclusively essential oils, meaning they are 100% natural and plant-derived molecules. Essential oil blends have a stronger scent and are more volatile (evaporate more quickly) than our fragrance oil blends. Yes, we offer a wider range of fragrances beyond our retail product line through direct inhalation. We keep stocks of some fragrances limited and release new blends from time to time. We can also design something custom for you or your brand.
